The history of Sayajirao Gaekwad III
Sayajirao Gaekwad III (born as Shrimant gopalrao gaekwad) was born on 11 March 1863 and was the maharaja of Baroda. He got vadodara on heriditary basis. he was a ruler of the maratha dynasty. It is said that they protected cows which gave them the surname Gaekwad. the Lakshmi villas palace which was the palace built by him was a very modern palace built by him in the indo-saracenic architecture had a lift, big entrances, paintings and a big armoury .He brought the first sewers in vadodara and built many temples, roundabouts, poles and many more architectural marvels. he even developed a navy in vadodara even before India itself had its navy (eventhough vadodara is landlocked) he invested in the making of the first airplane in the world, but the attempt was unsuccesful .so, this was all about Sayajirao Gaekwad and the development he brought to vadodara
